| WIRE SET INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS | ||||||
| 1) Safety First: | ||||||
| Make sure that the engine is cool. | ||||||
| Wear safety glasses. | ||||||
| Disconnect the ( - ) negative battery cable. | ||||||
| 2) Spread the replacement wires out and arrange them from the | ||||||
| shortest to the longest length. | ||||||
| 3) DO NOT REMOVE MORE THAN ONE WIRE AT A TIME. | ||||||
| Note the routing of the longest ignition wire first. Then, remove it by grasping the spark plug boot/connector (NOT THE CABLE), | ||||||
| twist slightly and pull firmly to remove. Carefully remove the wire from any existing clamps, you will want to reuse them for the | ||||||
| new wires. Remove the distributor end of the wire in the same manner as mentioned above. | ||||||
| 4) Select the longest wire from the new set. If Silicone boot Release is included in this set, apply a thin coat to the inside of | ||||||
| each spark plug boot. | ||||||
| (DO NOT GLOB IT ON! Do not apply boot release to the distributor or to the inside of the distributor boot.) Firmly insert the | ||||||
| boot/connector over the spark plug making sure the terminal is securely engaged and that the boot covers the terminal. | ||||||
| Route the new wire through the same path as the original wire, using any existing clamps. Push the terminal of other end | ||||||
| of the wire into the distributor cap/coil pack as far down as it will go so the terminal is securely engaged and the boot is | ||||||
| firmly sealed. | ||||||
| 5) Repeat the above steps for the remaining wires, selecting the longest lead each time. | ||||||
| 6) Where applicable, remove the old coil wire and replace it with the new coil wire in a similar manner as previously | ||||||
| described. | ||||||
| WIRE MAINTENANCE | ||||||
| Never let wires freely lie on anything that could cause it damage (i.e. moving parts, belts, manifold, turbocharger, etc.) | ||||||
| Keep wire set clean of oil and dirt. | ||||||
| Wires should be separated as much as possible. | ||||||
| All wire crossing should be done at 90 degree angles. | ||||||
| WARNING | ||||||
| Improper installation could lead to possible injury or damage to vehicle. | ||||||
| Silicone (dimethylpolysiloxane) may cause slight temporary discomfort if accidentally rubbed into the eyes. If this | ||||||
| happens, flush eyes with water. | ||||||
| Consult a doctor if irritation persists. Keep out of reach of children. | ||||||
